Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill Medal Ceremony
Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill Medal Ceremony is our opportunity to recognize and honor individuals who make a significant contribution to society in the arts, education, citizenship, philanthropy, community services, and other humanitarian concerns that reflect Mrs. Roosevelt’s ideals. The Ceremony is our way of recognizing people who live their lives in the spirit of Mrs. Roosevelt and serve as role models for the larger community, thus setting a standard for community values.
Honorary co-chairs of the 2003 Medal ceremony are Vassar College President Frances D. Fergusson, Marist College President Dennis J. Murray, past medalist Franklin Thomas and Kate Roosevelt Whitney. Co-chairs of the Invitation Committee are Robert and Emilie Dyson. Standard & Poors is the initial underwriter of the event.
Proceeds from the Medal ceremony help sustain the work of the Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val-Kill in furthering Mrs. Roosevelt’s legacy. These include programs in youth development, women’s empowerment, race relations, and monitoring welfare reform and human rights.
Inquiries and requests for invitations to the Medal ceremony and luncheon may be addressed to the Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val-Kill by phone, (845) 229-5302, or by email at info@ervk.org.
