2008 GLW Testimonial Hi everyone, My name is Hasna and I am from Iraq Baghdad. The Girls Leadership Workshop had taught me so much in every aspect of my life. There are no words to describe what I am feeling right now and lucky to get to know those great women that I will keep in touch with them. For me human rights is something really important , because when I first came here I did not realize that I have such rights, and now I am going back home and apply what I've learned into our society and spread the awareness between people there. Now I am so motivated for peace and not for war. I know there is no answer but we still must pave the way for justice. If we want peace work for justice. As peace is not a relationship of nations and country's but it is condition of mind brought about by a serenity of soul. It is a state of mind and lasting peace can come only to peaceful people. Some of the ugliest crimes have been committed every day around the world and I feel it's going to be my responsibility to make some difference and change. And I believe the only way to create change is to create understanding. And the true leaders work for peace and not for wars. As Eleanor Roosevelt say "for it isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. One must work for it". Thank you, Hasna A. |
