UDHR 50
In 1998 ERVK, with a committee of 125 non-governmental organizations, celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The group was led by the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute. UDHR is a document promulgated by the United Nations Human Rights Commission under Eleanor Roosevelt's chairmanship. It was approved by the United Nation’s General Assembly on December 10, 1948.
When ERVK was granted Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) status in 1998 it conducted several UDHR-based programs in Dutchess County, New York, and nationally in Boston and Washington D.C. ERVK continues to promote the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This document's importance shines through in all of ERVK's programs.
